Chicken Inn FC Ready for Manica Diamonds Challenge as Gamecocks Target Strong Response at Luveve Stadium

Chicken Inn FC will be looking to make a strong response when they host Manica Diamonds FC in a crucial Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 22 encounter at Luveve Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Gamecocks return to action with renewed determination as they seek to bounce back from setbacks in their previous two matches and continue building momentum during the second half of the season.

The match, scheduled for Saturday 11 July 2026, will kick off at 1500HRS, with Chicken Inn hoping to use the advantage of playing in front of their home supporters to secure a positive result.

With the league campaign now entering a demanding stage, every match carries greater importance. Clubs are fighting for valuable points, and Chicken Inn understand that consistency will be key as they look to improve their position on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table.

After Matchday 21, the Gamecocks are placed 12th on the standings with 24 points, while Manica Diamonds sit in 17th position with 16 points. The two teams approach the encounter with different objectives, but both will be determined to collect maximum points.

For Chicken Inn, the focus will be on returning to winning ways and turning Luveve Stadium into a fortress. The Gamecocks have shown throughout the season that they are capable of competing against strong opposition, and Saturday provides another opportunity to demonstrate their fighting spirit and character.

The team will also be encouraged by the return of important players who missed the previous match through suspension. Goalkeeper Taimon Mvula and midfielder Vasili Kawe are now available for selection, giving the technical team more options as preparations continue for the Manica Diamonds clash.

Another positive development for the Gamecocks is the return of forward Michael Charamba after a long period on the sidelines due to injury. His return adds more depth and experience to the squad as Chicken Inn continue their push for improved performances in the league.

Head coach Tonderai Ndiraya believes the team is moving in the right direction despite recent setbacks and has drawn encouragement from the performance against Ngezi Platinum Stars last weekend.

“Yeah, we have been doing good. Of course, it’s been a bit difficult to lift the boys after the defeat at Ngezi Platinum last weekend, but I think we are also getting encouragement from the performance in that game,” Ndiraya said.

“The performance was really good, if I must say. I think we saw a very different team from the team that was playing before. That is really giving us hope.”

The Chicken Inn coach believes returning to their home ground provides the perfect opportunity for the team to start collecting important points and reward their supporters.

“This week we are back at our home ground, and something that we have spoken about as a group is that we really need to start collecting maximum points, especially when we play at our fortress, that is Luveve Stadium,” he said.

Ndiraya confirmed that preparations for the match have been positive, with the players ready for the challenge despite some injury setbacks within the squad.

“So we are ready. The boys are ready. The boys are looking good, but it’s just unfortunate that we have lost some of our key players through injuries,” he explained.

“Mpumelelo Bhebhe is out, he got a knock last weekend. Then of course Farai Tsinakwadi is also out. Brandon Rendo has been out for some weeks now.”

However, the coach remains confident that the available players can step up and help the team achieve its target.

“But in their absence, we have got able replacements, and we are just going to manage the whole situation, make sure that we collect maximum points,” Ndiraya said.

“We really need the points, and we are going to do our very best to collect points, especially at our home.”
