The wait is over! Chicken Inn are back in action today as the Gamecocks welcome Ngezi Platinum Stars to Luveve Stadium for a massive ZIFA Munhumutapa Challenge Cup showdown.
After seeing their three-match winning run brought to an end by Bulawayo Chiefs last weekend, Chicken Inn have an immediate opportunity to respond and get back to winning ways.
This time, there is no league pressure and no room for second chances. It is knockout football, and the Gamecocks know exactly what is at stake.
Chicken Inn will be looking to use home advantage to their full benefit as they aim to book their place in the next round of the inaugural Munhumutapa Challenge Cup.
Standing in their way is a familiar opponent in Ngezi Platinum Stars, a side that has already beaten the Gamecocks in the league this season. But cup football is a different challenge, and Chicken Inn will believe they have what it takes to settle the score on their own turf.
The Gamecocks have shown plenty of character during their recent run, collecting important victories against TelOne, FC Hunters and Manica Diamonds before the setback against Bulawayo Chiefs.
Now the focus shifts completely to the cup.
The message from the Chicken Inn camp is clear: show the hunger, fight for every ball and give everything for the badge.
The prize waiting at the end of this competition makes today's battle even bigger. The Munhumutapa Challenge Cup champions will walk away with US$1 million and a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Chicken Inn want to be part of that journey.
Luveve is ready. The Gamecocks are ready.
Now it’s time for the 12th man to make their voice heard.
